Alcatel Idol 4 with VR Headset Launched in India at Rs. 16,999

Alcatel has launched Idol 4 smartphone in India. The smartphone was launched at MWC 2016 earlier this year. It is available in Gold, Metal Silver and Dark Grey colors, is priced at Rs. 16,999. The smartphone will be exclusively available via online shopping partner Flipkart.

One of the unique features of Alcatel Idol 4 is the boom key, which is located on the right side of the device and allows users to get access to camera, gallery, videos, games and other applications. It has dual-speakers that offer a total audio output of 7.2 watts and has Waves MaxxAudio technology. It also comes with JBL stereo headset in the box.

Alcatel Idol 4 and Idol 4S Launched with a Box that Doubles as VR Goggles

Alcatel has launched Idol 4 and Idol 4S just ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016. The phone comes in a box that transforms into a VR headset offering an immersive 360-degree viewing and gaming. It has Onetouch VR Store app to to download virtual reality content or stream realtime content via LittlStar. It is available in gold, rose gold, dark grey and metal silver. The handset will be launching globally in April and the price will start at 279 euros for the Idol 4, and 429 euros for the Idol 4S. 

Alcatel has partnered with audio brands, JBL and Waves for a superior audio experience, combined with powerful dual 3.6 watt speakers, NXP’s TFA9890 Smart Power Amplifier, Hi-Fi surround-sound for the J22 JBL headphones, and optimization of audio presets both automatically and manually. Alcatel also added a special "boom" button to the side of both phones. It does different things depending on the context: When the phone is asleep, press it to take photos instantly, and hold it to take burst photos. If you're watching a photo gallery, the button will let you share a photo collage or a slideshow, and if you're listening to music, the button "optimizes" the sound by changing the bass and loudness settings.

Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL Launched With Windows 10 at CES 2016

Alcatel OneTouch has launched its first Windows powered dubbed smartphone dubbed Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL at CES 2016. It is available in Blue color and will be exclusively available from T-mobile in the US for $140 (Rs. 9350 approx.).

The smartphone comes preloaded with Microsoft's Office Mobile productivity suite of apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and OneDrive. Apart from the preloaded apps, the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will also pack features such as Cortana, Microsoft's digital voice assistant, and Microsoft Edge, the new default browser for Windows 10.

Alcatel has launched Alcatel Flash 2 smartphone in India. It is available in Volcanic Grey color and is priced at Rs. 9,299. It will be available exclusively through online shopping site Flipkart starting October 27th. Registrations for the sale will begin today.

The main highlight of this smartphone is 13MP rear-camera (Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL Sensor) with Phase Detection Autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. It supports autofocus and up to 4 times digital zoom, and can record videos in full-HD video resolution. It bears a 'realtone' flash module.

It will become available in Thailand on September 25, in Indonesia on September 29, in Vietnam on October 13, and in Malaysia on October 15.

Alcatel OneTouch Launches Go Play Smartphone and Go Watch Wearable at IFA 2015

Alcatel OneTouch has announced Alcatel OneTouch Go Play and Alcatel OneTouch Go Watch at IFA 2015 in Berlin. The Go Play and Go Watch are waterproof, dustproof and shockproof smartphone with IP67 ratings. The Go Watch doesn't run on Android Wear, but it supports both Android and iOS devices.

Alcatel OneTouch Go Watch features a 1.22-inch (240 x 240p pixels) display powered by 180MHz Cortex M4 processor. It comes with 225 mAh battery which is charged via Micro-USB connectivity and would run for 2-5 days on a single charge.

Its Go button triggers an "emotion pulse measurement" that is said to create an "emotional graphic" from the results gathered by the gyroscope, heart rate sensor, and accelerometer. Users can share the result on social networks, or set it as the wallpaper.

Alcatel launched Alcatel One Touch Hero 2+ with Cyanogen OS. It is priced at $299 (Rs. 18,500 approx.) and will first launch in North America in Q2 2015. According to the company, it will introduce more Cyanogen OS devices in 2015. It comes with an integrated stylus pen and has optimized handwriting recognition.

Alcatel OneTouch announced its Pixi 3 series of smartphones along with the budget One Touch Watch. Alcatel OneTouch will showcase the Pixi 3 and the Watch at CES 2015.

The Pixi 3 series smartphones can run Android, Firefox and Windows Phone operating systems depending on customer's need. It comes with different screen sizes - 3.5-inch, 4-inch, 4.5-inch, and 5-inch. The 3.5 inch variant will come with 3G, the other three variants come with 4G LTE connectivity.

"Our users do not want complicated systems -- they want something familiar from their work environment in the office, but also on a smartphone," said Alcatel One Touch Chief Marketing Officer Dan Dery.

Apart from Pixi 3 series smartphone, the company has also come up with a Watch. the watch includes sensors and apps to monitor user's daily activity. It can be connected to Android smartphones for various activities like controlling music, taking photos and many more.
