Apple releases OS X 10.11 El Capitan to App Store for Free

Apple has released OS X 10.11 El Capitan to the public, it is available for free to Mac users around the world. It can be downloaded using the Software Update function in the Mac App Store, and it will run on all Macs capable of running OS X 10.6.8 or later. 

It comes with new Split View option for side-by-side multitasking, improved Spotlight and Mission Control functionality, an updated Notes app, updated Safari with Pinned Sites, a universal mute button and more.

Apple has released OS X Yosemite v10.10.3 update that comes with Photos app replacing iPhoto as the default consumer photo-management solution on Macs.The update also brings the new emoji characters to OS X, prevents Safari from saving website favicon URLs used in Private Browsing, and improves Wi-Fi performance and connectivity in various usage scenarios, amongst various other fixes and enhancements. Now You Can Run Android Apps in Google Chrome on PCs, Macs

Google might have made it possible to launch Android apps on almost any device as part of the latest developer preview of its App Runtime for Chrome (ARC) project.

The new features make it so that ARC can run on any desktop OS that has the Chrome browser installed, and opens up the ability to launch Android apps on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Chrome OS, according to Ars Technica.

Google's updated ARC project also allows developers to run their app on ARC via a new Chrome app packager, and the only platform excluded is of course iOS.

Originally Google ARC was designed to let Android apps run on Chrome OS. However, shortly after it was launched, a hack found the full potential of the project to run on any machine, and that has now been added as a full feature.

ARC is able to run Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS through a Native Client (NaCL), which is a sandboxing technology that lets Chrome apps run at close to native speeds and fully harness a machine's CPU and GPU.

Is it that easy?

Of course it isn't as easy as that and developers will need to play around with the ARC Welder and submit the app to the Chrome Web Store before it can actually run.

What ARC and the NaCL do is champion Google's strategy to make sure that developers write more apps for the Android ecosystem and they then work on more devices than ever - never a bad thing from a consumer point of view.

Apple Rolls Out iOS 8.3 Beta Program To iPhone Users

Apple has launched Apple Beta Software Program’ for iOS 8.3. his is the first time Apple has offered iOS to the general public as a beta. All you need to do is sign up to test the public beta. The iOS 8.3 Beta is available for download from the new Apple Beta Software Program website. 

The software update includes support for Wireless CarPlay, an upgraded Emoji keyboard, Spotlight, an enhanced voice for Siri ((English (India, New Zealand), Danish (Denmark), Dutch (Netherlands), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian (Russia), Swedish (Sweden), Thai (Thailand), and Turkish (Turkey)) and simpler login for Google services.

Please make sure to back up your device using the instructions provided. This is beta software that is still in development, which means some applications and services may not work as expected.

Apple has released the public beta of its upcoming computer operating system, OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. If you have registered for the OS X beta program, then can head on over to the Mac App Store Software Update tab to download the new beta. Apple advises that users install the beta software on a system or partition that they are prepared to erase if necessary. Users are also told to always back up their Mac when using beta software.
