Here’s How to Claim Your Free Jio Prime Membership for One More Year

Jio Prime subscription for all users has already expired, but as the operator has announced, it will remain free for one more year for all customers who have paid for the service once. Of course, you need to apply for the Jio Prime free renewal as it is not automatically credited to the users.

For existing prime members, Here is how you renew your subscription for one more year

  • Download MyJio
  • Express your interest to get a complimentary membership for next 12 months by clicking the banner on the app’s home page
  • Verify your number and the linked accounts and click proceed
  • Your request to the available free JioPrime membership for a year has been registered
  • You will get a confirmation by the end of the day or tomorrow
  • Enjoy Jio Prime benefits
For new prime members
  • Pay Rs. 99 during onboarding, for Jio Prime membership for the annual subscription.

With 175 million users across the country on the network, it is likely some Jio subscribers will face some glitches while trying to renew Prime for free. Well, if that's the case with you as well, then there's a simple solution you can try out.

You are probably not seeing the message to extend Prime as you are not an active Jio user despite purchasing the Rs. 99 subscription. If you don’t see the banner asking you to get service for another year, force quit the app and stream videos for 15 minutes or so using - and this is important - Jio 4G data of the number whose membership you are trying to review. Once you’ve done that, start the MyJio app once again, and log in using the same number — you should now be able to see the banner message prompting you to apply for Jio Prime membership renewal.

Once you see the message, you just need to follow the standard renewal process. Tap on the Get Now button in the banner, and you will see a message saying the operator is extending the subscription for one full year, and the numbers registered to you below it. Simply select the number whose Prime subscription you want to extend from the list, and hit Proceed. Your subscription will get renewed in a couple of hours.

Jio Prime to Remain Free for Existing Users for 1 More Year

Reliance Jio launched Reliance Jio Prime membership at a one-time payment of Rs. 99 for a year back in March last year, which was supposed to end today, 31st March 2018. The company has officially announced that all Jio Prime members who have subscribed to the exclusive membership benefits till 31st March 2018 will get another year of complimentary Prime benefits at no additional fee, which it calls a limited period offer.

However, those who join the Jio network and opt for Prime after April 1 will have to pay Rs. 99 as the membership cost. As before, the Prime benefits will be provided to customers for a period of 12 months, i.e. March 2019. However, existing users will have to go through an opt-in process to avail the free service for another year.

Jio said in a statement, “The continued availability of the Jio Prime membership to new subscribers reiterates Jio’s commitment to deliver a differentiated Digital Life experience to Indians, and will propel this into the world’s largest loyalty programme.”

Jio Prime subscription is essential if you want to benefit from the offers the company provides from time to time, such as the Rs. 50 discounts on recharge packs with daily data allocations. Similarly, the Jio promise to offer data tariffs 20 percent lower than the nearest competitor works out for Prime users only. Moreover, the access to content apps, which the operator values at Rs. 10,000 for the whole year, comes only with plans for which Prime subscription is a pre-requisite. Jio's suite of apps includes Jio TV, Jio Music, Jio News, etc. However, despite the membership, customers are still required to purchase separate recharge packs with validities to use the network.

Reliance Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer Launched, Unlimited Services Starting at Rs. 309

Soon after cancelling the Jio Summer Surprise offer as per TRAI’s recommendation, as promised Jio has come up with a new offer for those who has not subscribed for Jio Prime and has not recharge for Rs. 303 or more.

The Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer is aimed at customers who were unable to avail the Jio Summer Surprise offer. The new Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer will allow users to avail free services – including unlimited data, free SMSs, and Jio apps subscription – for three months. Those who are already part of the Jio Summer Surprise promotion will not get the benefits of Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer.

Jio Prime users will be able to get the free Reliance Jio services for three months with the Rs. 309 and Rs. 509 recharges. Customers who are yet to sign up for Jio Prime or who are new users will have to buy the Rs. 408 (Rs. 99 Jio Prime subscription + Rs. 309 pack) or Rs. 608 (Rs. 99 + Rs. 509) recharge in order to get the free services for three cycles of 28 days. Once you buy the recharge, you get the free Reliance Jio services for 84 days (3 x 28 days). The Jio.com website and MyJio app show that the actual tariffs for the Rs. 309 and Rs. 509 recharge are Rs. 349 and Rs. 549, but the operator is giving a Rs. 40 discount at present. Reliance Jio has not announced whether there is the last date to sign up for Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer.

Jio 'Summer Surprise' Offer Cancelled, You Can Still Get Free Reliance Jio Services

Yesterday, after TRAI issued an order to stop the free service of Jio the offer has been withdrawn by Reliance Jio. Jio Summer Surprise had offered their Prime user 3 months of free additional services provided the user has recharged their number with Rs. 303 or more. Now, as the Summer Surprise has been withdrawn it is still not too late to avail benefits of Jio 'Summer Surprise' offer as Reliance Jio is yet to roll it back - Jio said the process of rolling it back may take a couple of days.

Here is what Jio's Summer Surprise offered its customers:-

Every Jio Prime member who makes a recharge using Jio’s Rs. 303 plan (or any of Jio’s higher value plans) will get an additional three months of complimentary service. This means that if you buy Jio Prime membership and a recharge of Rs. 303 or higher value by April 15, you will get to use Jio services for free until June, and the paid plans will only start in July. If you’ve already subscribed to Jio Prime plan and bought a recharge, you will still get the Summer Surprise without any further action. The company added that the Jio Summer Surprise is going to be just the first of “many” surprises for Prime members.

When is Jio ‘Summer Surprise’ offer last date?

With the new order issued by TRAI, Jio 'Summer Surprise' now stands cancelled. Reliance Jio has agreed to roll it back but has not announced a concrete Jio ‘Summer Surprise’ offer last date yet. In a statement, the telecom operator said the promotional scheme will be withdrawn “as soon as operationally feasible.”

Can I still get Jio ‘Summer Surprise’ offer benefits?

Yes. Jio 'Summer Surprise' offer is available via the Jio official website and MyJio app. If you are not a Prime member yet, then you need to enrol for the subscription plan. When you open the page for Jio Prime subscriptions, you will not find at present the option to do the Rs. 99 recharge, as was the case earlier. Instead, you will be presented with a list of plans you can buy to avail Jio 'Summer Surprise' benefits. Just tick the box next to the plan you want, and hit the Buy button. The next page will show you that the Rs. 99 Jio Prime subscription fee has already been added to your checkout cart. Simply proceed to make the payment and enjoy 3 months of free services.

If I already have Jio Prime, do I still get Jio 'Summer Surprise' benefits?

If you are a Jio Prime member and have already purchased a recharge of Rs. 303 or higher value, then you will get Jio 'Summer Surprise' benefits for three months. If you are a Jio Prime user but are yet to purchase a recharge of Rs. 303 or more, then you need to buy the recharge pack as soon as possible to continue free services till July.

What happens if I don’t get Jio 'Summer Surprise' offer?

If you choose not to avail the Jio summer offer, you will soon have to start paying for all services except calls. On March 31 – the original last day for Jio Prime enrollment – the operator had provided a grace period of 15 days to customers who had not signed up yet; in this grace period, the free services were to continue. But with the TRAI order to cancel Jio 'Summer Surprise' offer, it is not clear if this grace period has also been withdrawn.  So if the grace period is rolled back sometime soon, you will have to start paying for services as a non-Prime user.

When is Jio Prime last date?

The last date for Jio Prime subscriptions will still continue to be April 15 as the TRAI order does not affect it.

So, if you are really looking forward to using Jio then its advice to take the prime membership and recharge for Rs. 303 or more and avail the free services.

Reliance Jio 'Summer Surprise' Offer Withdrawn After TRAI Order, Jio Prime Last Date Still April 15

Reliance Jio announced that it is going to withdraw its Jio Summer Surprise offer after sector regulator TRAI issued an order asking Reliance Jio to end its complimentary services. Jio Summer Surprise offered 3-month complimentary benefits of Jio services and free data on recharge of Rs. 303 or more. This offer was announced by the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries last week.

All customers who have subscribed to the aforementioned offer prior to its discontinuation will remain eligible for the offer. Trai had previously found nothing wrong with its extended promotional offers of free data and voice that had helped Jio clock 100 million customers.

The only ones impacted will be the Jio users who had not signed up for Jio Prime and purchased the requisite recharges till now. They will have to pay for all Jio services except calls. Though the services were to become paid starting April 1, the company had provided users a grace period till April 15 to enrol for Jio Prime. In this grace period, users could continue to use all Jio services for free (without Prime subscription), but with the new TRAI order, it is not clear whether this grace period ends too.

Reliance Jio has started sending push notifications for the customers that says that Jio Summer Surprise offer will be withdrawn in the next few days. It also asks customers to recharge with Rs. 303 or more to avail the offer before it’s discontinued.

Reliance Jio Prime Plan Last Date Extended to April 15, Jio Summer Surprise Announced

Reliance Jio said that in one month, over 72 million people had signed up for Jio Prime plan. The company called this "the largest migration from free to paid services in history in such a short period of time." In his letter, Ambani wrote, "Over the past few days, we have been deluged by millions of customers queuing up to purchase Jio’s popular Rs. 303 and other tariff plans. This nationwide trend indicates that very many customers are still in the process of purchasing Jio Prime and their first paid tariff plan."

Reliance Jio is also extending the deadline for purchasing enrollment of Jio Prime as well as its recharge of Rs 303 to enjoy benefits of the Happy New Year offer, including full bouquet of Jio’s media services and other plans till 15th April.

Jio has announced that every Jio Prime member who makes a recharge using Jio’s Rs.

"Jio’s free service period is coming to an end," wrote Ambani. "Users who do not recharge by the extended date will experience degradation and/ or discontinuation of services."

"In India, we have the fine tradition of shagun - offering gifts on auspicious occasions," he added. "For us, your first recharge is an auspicious moment. Therefore, we want to offer a token of our appreciation - the Jio Summer Surprise."

Reliance Jio Prime Membership at Rs 99 for 1 year

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries at the company’s special event today announced that Reliance Jio has crossed 100 million customers in just 170 days of launch, adding 7 customers every second on average.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday announced the Jio Prime membership for initial 100 million customers of Reliance Jio. Under the Jio Prime plan, Jio members can avail another year of its 4G services at a one-time payment of Rs 99 to be made this March. This means, the Jio Prime members can continue to enjoy the Jio 4G data benefit till March 31, 2018 at Rs 99. Additionally, Jio will charge Rs 303 per month, effectively at Rs 10 per day for another full year. The plan comes into effect on April 1, 2017, the day the existing Jio Happy New Year Offer expires. Existing users can enroll via MyJio app or log into company’s website as well as via Jio offline stores to enroll into Jio Prime membership plan.

Those who do not opt for the Jio Prime subscription plan will be ported to the prepaid or postpaid Reliance Jio tariff plans, which the company had announced in September 2016 while launching its services. Ambani stressed that despite the free data plans not being valid starting April 1, all voice calls on the network will remain free indefinitely - with no roaming charges.

Reliance Jio Free Usage Offer for New and Existing Customers Extended Till March 31

At an event on Thursday, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani made a number of announcements about Reliance Jio, and said that the company will extend its free services by another three months.

"Starting December 4, 2016, every new Jio user will get the data, voice, and a full bouquet of the Jio apps free till 31 March 2017," Ambani said. "This is the Jio Happy New Year Offer. All our existing 52 million users will continue to enjoy the Welcome Offer till 31 December, and then automatically be signed up for the New Year Offer. No need to buy a new SIM."

Currently, data is capped at 4GB per day under Welcome offer after 1st January data will be capped at 1GB per day, after that speed will be reduced to 128kbps. The company says that only 20% of Jio users use over 1GB of data per day. It also said that this is 30 times the use on other networks.

Ambani addressed this and said that the reason was the free Welcome Offer. "With 52 million customers, taking full advantage of the free Welcome Offer, it has caused slowdowns, but only on 8 percent of our towers," he said. "And 92 percent of our customers and towers have been experiencing high data speeds."

At the announcement, Ambani also confirmed that Jio has signed up 6 lakh customers every day for three months, thanks to eKYC, and said, "On average, a Jio customer is using 25 times the data that an average broadband user consumes." In the three months since the launch, it has seen millions of Indians signing up, and Ambani added that he hopes millions more will join soon. He added that there are 2 lakh eKYC outlets - "nearly equal to the total number of ATMs in India," Ambani pointed out - and that there will be 4 lakh outlets by March 2017.

"We are the fastest growing technology company, not only in India, but in the history of the world," said Ambani, adding, "in the three months, it's grown faster than Facebook, or WhatsApp, and the fastest growing LTE network."

He also said that in the last 3 months, nearly 900 crore voice calls from Jio to the networks of its 3 largest competitors were blocked due to the anti-competitive behaviour of these incumbent operators. Over the past months, the call block rate has come down from over 90% to nearly 20% as of yesterday.

Reliance Jio : Here's All You Need To Know

At Reliance AGM, Mukesh Ambani finally broke the silence on the tariffs for Reliance Jio. The company will not be charging for voice calls at all, and it will charge a tenth of what its competitors are charging for 4G data, Ambani said - it was announced that Jio will charge only 5 paise per MB, or Rs. 50 per GB. What's more, the greater the usage, the lower the cost will be, and the rates could go down to Rs. 25 per GB.

At the AGM, Ambani also announced that Jio services will become available from Monday, September 5, absolutely free for everyone for a month, as part of the 'Jio welcome offer', so everyone can try Jio's services at absolutely no charge.

"Pay for only one service - either voice or data, not both," he said. "World over, operators charge only for data, voice and messaging are essentially free. All voice calls for Jio customers will be absolutely free."

The Jio 4G tariffs start at Rs. 149 for 28 days, for 300MB. For Rs. 499 per month you get a big step up, to 4GB of 4G data, plus unlimited 4G at night, for 28 days. You'll also get 8GB of access from Reliance Jio's upcoming network of Wi-Fi hotspots, further increasing the amount of data you can use. For Rs. 999, that goes up to 10GB of 4G data, and 20GB of Wi-Fi usage, plus unlimited usage at night. Further plans are for Rs. 1,499 for 20GB, Rs. 2,499 for 35GB, and Rs. 3,999 for 60GB of 4G data, and twice as much Wi-Fi usage respectively. The most expensive plan is for Rs. 4,999 for 75GB of 4G usage plus unlimited 4G usage at night, and 150GB of Wi-Fi data.

There will also be no roaming charges, across India, to any network, it was announced. "Put an end to all voice call charges for all voice calls that are domestic," Ambani said. This applies to calls to other networks as well, not just calls within the network.

Ambani said. "Our data plans go even further with an effective rate of 5p/MB or Rs. 50/ GB." Students will get 25 percent extra data on the tariffs, if they show a valid ID when signing up for Jio.

Apart from the data rates, Ambani also announced that the full suite of Jio apps - for streaming movies, music, and live television - will be completely free for all users until December 2017.

Here is how the different tariff looks like :

Jio’s 4G network covers 18,000 cities and towns, and over 2 lakh villages. By March 2017 it will cover 90% of India’s population. It will also remove Blackout Days and offer transparent bills.

Jio sign-up will be made 100% digital using an Aadhaar based eKYC process. This is rolling out starting with Mumbai and Delhi and will be expanded to top 8 cities of India where there is more demand. Over the next 4 to 6 weeks it will expand to all stores across India. This will allow customers carrying an Aadhaar card walk into a Jio store and get a
working connection within 15 minutes.

At the launch Mukesh Ambani said, "I want all of you to take 5 things back: digital life, connected intelligence, Jio life, Jio together and Why Jio? Because life is going digital. The event was hosted by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and music director A R Rahman.

The company will offer free subscriptions for employees till the commercial roll out takes place, and heavy discounts on handsets, to push demand. Reliance Jio is also planning a 25% discount on company's LYF mobile handsets. Reliance Jio is expected to expand its services by March-April 2016.
