Asus ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone Zoom Receiving Android Marshmallow Update

Asus has started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Asus ZenFone Selfie and Asus ZenFone Zoom smartphones. The ZenFone Zoom gets bumped to firmware version 4.21.40.74 while the Zenfone Selfie is going up to 21.40.0.1692. Both smartphone users needs to download the firmware manually from the official website.

The update adds new features such as Google Calendar, Google Messenger, Motion Gesture. The Camera app receives new Pano Sphere mode. The ZenFone Zoom, after the update, will come with preloaded apps such as Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. Asus adds that Marshmallow update will remove some apps from the ZenFone Selfie including Asus Email, Asus Calendar, Asus Messaging, Asus Browser, and Asus Music after factory reset. The company suggest users to switch to Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Messenger, Chrome, and Google Play Music for relevant services.

The company however warns users that Android Marshmallow won't support transfer of apps to microSD card. "Please move apps to internal storage before system upgrades," notes Asus.

Asus Zenfone Selfie Launched with 13MP Rear and Front Cameras with Real Tone Flash, 3GB RAM in India at Rs. 17,999

Asus has now launched the 3GB variant of Asus ZenFone Selfie in India. Last month the company had launched the 2GB variant of it and was priced Rs. 15,999 and the sale will start from September 30. It is available in Pure White, Chic Pink and Aqua Blue and is priced at Rs. 17,999. It will be available exclusively through from Flipkart.

Asus ZenFone Selfie features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning gorilla glass 4 powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB LPDDR3 RAM. It has an internal storage of 32GB and can be expanded via microSD up to 64GB. It sports a 13MP laser auto focus rear camera with Real Tone flash and a 13MP front facing camera with Real Tone flash. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI 2.0 on top and has 3000 mAh battery.
