ZTE Star 2 with 5-inch 1080p display and system-level voice control launched

ZTE has launched ZTE Star 2 smartphone today,the successor to its Star 1 smartphone unveiled back in April this year.

ZTE Star 2 features a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD OGS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB RAM. It has an internal storage of 16GB and can be expanded via microSD card. It sports a 13MP auto focus camera with dual LED and a 5MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with MiFavor 3.0 UI on top and has 2300 mAh battery.

The main feature of ZTE Star2 is its voice control support. The voice control system on the ZTE Star 2 is active even when the phone is not connected to the Internet, and ZTE says that it has a response time of 1.2 seconds and a 90% success rate even in noisy environments.

ZTE Star 2 comes in Black and White colors. The phone is priced at 2499 Chinese Yuan ( US$ 400 / Rs. 25,300 approx.) and is available in China. Global launch will be announced later, says ZTE.
